He enjoyed his journalism career and his political accomplishments.

He served as a Councillor for the Town of the Blue Mountains from June 2018, until he was appointed as Deputy Mayor for the Town on January 30, 2020.

He was founding President of The Marsh Street Centre which was near and dear to his heart

Rob had many volunteer projects such as Kinsmen, Thornbury Community Theatre, Craigleith Heritage Depot to name a few.

He was the beloved, cherished husband of Linda (nee Gordon). Rob was the adored brother of Bruce Potter, Jeff Potter (Harlene) and Judy Buckle (Albert Michel), and the admired brother-in-law of Susan Dennison, Kim Gordon (Debbie) and Patricia McCarl. He was a loving uncle to many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Rob was predeceased by his parents Ted (1993) and June (2015) as well as his brother George (2018).

Linda, our deepest sympathy. I very much enjoyed our time working together at all those years at the newspaper. He was the best work husband – always ready to offer support and always ready for a good laugh. We will always cherish the memories of the years Scott spent with Rob with the TCT. We are heart broken.

It is difficult to imagine Thornbury Community Theatre without Rob’s participation as an actor, director or producer, and sometimes maybe all three. It certainly was a lot of fun to share a stage with him and I sincerely wish there could have been more such productions. Alas, final curtain.
