Pringle, Robert 'Grant'
Grant Pringle passed away peacefully in Collingwood on Monday, January 12, 2026 at the age of 92.

Born in Toronto on May 15, 1933, he was a son of the late Stanley Grant Pringle and Marjorie (nee Poulton) Pringle.
Grant was raised in Markham, attended Franklin St. Markham Public School and Markham District High School. He spent a great deal of time on his great uncle’s farm until taking a job in Toronto with a small wholesale company. He then worked at Miles Laboratories a pharmaceutical company from 1959-1990 when he retired.
Grant met Helen Isobel ‘Nellie’ Templeton in 1953 and they married on July 16, 1955. Nellie passed away on July 26, 1983 after a battle with cancer.
Grant met Esther May (nee Harrison) and they married on August 8, 1987. In 1999 Esther and Grant purchased a home in Kimberley, ON where they resided until December of 2007. They moved into Meaford where they enjoyed their home at Maple Meadow, where Esther is still residing. Grant moved into Chartwell Balmoral in Collingwood where he could receive a little extra support after some health challenges. Grant and Esther, and sometimes Bruno the puppy, were able to visit many times a week and often able to get out for walks. The support staff were wonderful at Balmoral, and Grant was quite comfortable and content there.
He was kindhearted, knowledgeable and always willing to listen and offer advice or support. Grant will certainly be missed but never be forgotten.
He will be missed dearly by his wife Esther (nee Harrison) Pringle. He was the step-father of Bonnie Gottschling and grandfather of Matthew, Jillian and Jesse.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Gentle Shepherd Community Church in Eugenia on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 11 o’clock, with a reception following. A service of committal and interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Markham on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 11 o’clock.

Hi Esther: We would like to convey our condolences for your loss of Grant. We got to know him while living at Maple Meadow Homes and it was always a pleasure to meet with him and enjoy a conversation. A vert soft spoken, kind hearted gentleman who always took the time to talk. You will have many fond memories to bring you comfort as time goes on.

Bonnie and Ester.
Sorry to hear of the loss of Grant. He was a very kind soft spoken man. He kept his Rougecrest home and yard pristine. The back yard should have been a site for wedding pictures through the summer. He always welcomed me into his home….. even tho at a much younger age growing up on the street I think myself and a few others may have caused him to loose a few hairs as we toboganned down the Richard’s hill onto his back yard. I recall him always being by there for his uncle on the corner of George St and caring for his mom at the top of Peter St. This world needs more men like Grant Pringles in them.
Thinking of you both.
Don Clarke.
