Hodgkinson, Ronald William

Born to the late Alma (nee Parker) and Bruce Hodgkinson on August 11, 1935, Ron, a longtime resident of Thornbury and the Beaver Valley, passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family at Errinrung Residence on Saturday January 25, 2020 at the age of 84.

Ron leaves behind and will be remembered by his wife Zoe Foster of Thornbury.  He was predeceased by his beloved wife Joyce in November of 1999 and is remembered as the dearly loved Dad and sorely missed Poppa Ron and Grampa and Great Grampa by his daughter Rhonda and her husband Doug Green of Heathcote, their children Whitney Green (Jason Heal) and children Ayva and Lydia; Ashley Green and her daughter Emerald Green; his son Michael Hodgkinson of Clarksburg and son Brandon Rutherford; his daughter Patti Hodgkinson and partner Carey Ray also of Heathcote and daughter Madison; and by his daughter Sue Hodgkinson and her partner Jake Smit of Duncan and children Landon and Avelyn.

Ron will be recalled with fondness also by Joyce’s family Terry Corless of Orillia and children Nathan and Raeanne and Mathew Ward and Shelley of Orillia and children Tyson and Brianna.

He was a dear brother to brothers Merle Hodgkinson of Alberta and Bryan and his wife Lynn Hodgkinson of Brantford and to sisters Ruth White of Thornbury and Shirley and her husband Vern Watson of Listowel.

Ron was a special uncle to his several nieces and nephews and their families.

Cremation has taken place and family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., in Meaford on Sunday February 2nd from 1 until 4 p.m.  A memorial service celebrating Ron’s life will be conducted at Saint Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Thornbury on Monday February 3, 2020 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow.

Ron’s cremated remains will be interred with his late wife Joyce at Thornbury-Clarksburg Union Cemetery.
