Ruthann MacDougall’s family are deeply saddened to announce her passing in Owen Sound on Monday, July 19, 2021 with her husband Ron by her side at the age of 70.
Ruthann was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 13, 1951 ‘Mother’s Day’ and adopted 9 days later by wonderful loving parents, Albert Sr. and Harriet (nee Shaw) Mackey, who raised her as their own.
Ruthann is survived by her husband and soul mate, Ronald ‘Ron’ MacDougall, and by their 3 children, David Glenn MacDougall, Christopher Allen MacDougall and his wife Beth, and Christine Elizabeth MacDougall. She will be truly missed by her grandsons Caleb and Jacob.
She is also survived by her sisters Marsha Tubridy and her husband Jit, Loretta ‘Lori’ Crowley and Mary Kozloski, and was predeceased by her sisters Virginia Canavan, Catherine ‘Kay’ Polito, Clara ‘Chicky’ Deitzel and by her brothers Albert Jr. ‘Buddy’ Mackey, Mark Mackey and Jimmy Mackey. She is fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and their families, and by her many friends who loved and cherished her and whom she loved and cherished so very much.
Ruthann loved caring for children since she was a young girl and had lots of experience because her parents fostered over 50 children over the years at their home in Boston. She had a heart of gold and was always there to offer a shoulder to cry on.
Ruthann’s life will be celebrated soon at a date to be announced.
