Goudy, Tanner Austin Alexander

Tanner passed away suddenly at his home in Meaford on Monday, November 7, 2022 at the age of 25.

Born in Owen Sound on October 29, 1997, he was the much-loved son of Cindy (nee Austin) and Don Goudy.

Tanner will be missed by his siblings Lexi Goudy, Crystal Austin (Mark MacLeod), Darryl Goudy (Sharon Clement), and Dayna Goudy (Stacey Armstrong).

He was the special uncle of Erica, Eryn, Ryder, Aja, and Zaiah.

Tanner was the precious grandson of Fran Austin (late Don ’Nipper’) and Alex Goudy (Lorene).

He was the cherished nephew of Duane Austin, Angi Austin (Jimmy Tom), and Garry Goudy (Nancy).

He will be remembered fondly by his cousins and his friends from work.

Tanner was a happy, bright eyed and busy little boy.  He loved playing outdoors and enjoyed anything with wheels and a motor; dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, skateboards and in the off season he liked to snowmobile and snowboard.  He enjoyed all things ‘Supreme’; shoes, clothing, stickers, hats… and anything with the Supreme logo.  Tanner loved working at MBM Stone Works with his brother-in-law Mark, and later at Nature’s Edge where his crew loved his never-ending jokes and sayings.  Unfortunately, he struggled for many years with mental health and addiction.  For a very long time Tanner tried to overcome the battles within himself and now he has found his peace.

‘Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.’

A private family graveside service will be conducted at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.

Tanner was definitely one of a kind and always so polite to us up on the hill. We will remember him as a beautiful bright boy, full of adventure and living his best life on Sideroad 10. Don, Cindy, and families,
We did not know Tanner but we can imagine the kind of pain and suffering he lived with. May the knowledge that he is now at peace bring you some measure of comfort while you grieve. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sending compassion & love as you navigate this difficult time. We hope you can take comfort in remembering Tanner’s feisty spirit & eyes that smiled (sometimes an up to no good smile). We really enjoyed our time with Tanner the last Christmas spent with him-we laughed a lot and enjoyed his company greatly. We are here for you always.
