Terry was more than just our cottage neighbour, he was a true friend. He was always there to lend a helping hand, and he truly had a heart of gold. Even when we weren’t at the cottage, he kept in close contact, always checking in. We shared so many great memories with him, mostly over a beer in our backyard. He was especially wonderful with our oldest son, who thought the world of him. Terry will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by our family. Hope Bay just won’t be the same without him. Our condolences to his family and anyone who was lucky enough to call him a friend.

To Terry’s Mom & family, we are devastated to hear of Terry’s passing. He’s been a fixture for us since we purchased our cottage 16 years ago. It just won’t be the same without him there to greet us at the parking lot most times upon our arrival or see him heading out fishing each evening. He’s been very helpful to us & generous with his time & also the fish he’s shared with us. Please accept our condolences to your family. Gone way too soon.

I’m so sorry to learn of this loss.

I didn’t know him well, but Terry really left a mark on me. He had this playful, almost childlike smile that could light up a room. He was so generous with his smile, and his eyes were kind. The first time we brought our daughter to Hope Bay, Terry happily greeted us on the road and was thrilled to meet Nora.

I have a feeling that concealed behind what he showed the world, Terry was a wise and observant soul. I’m sure others reading this will relate to this idea. I will truly miss our exchanges Terry.

We loved Terry as a friend and neighbour; a close member of our Covid bubble that could make us laugh and cry. Always willing to lend a helping hand, especially if machines and chainsaws were in the mix. Fishing, relaxing, carpentry, always busy.

We will miss him dearly. Wish we were there to share memories.

I recall a lot of childhood memories playing with Terry in the little village of Rocklyn!
Everything from road hockey (Car), organized hockey at the arena, playing 500 softball or soccer on the empty lot next door, attending school in the same grade for many years. He was a good athlete.
I’d not seen or spoke with him since those days. Life took us on different paths.
My condolences to Eileen, Donna, Marsha and Key-Ellen.

Terry had a compassionate heart. He was quick with a smile … to help his neighbours, friends, and those he just met. William Wordsworth wrote … “The little unremembered acts of kindness and love are the best parts of a person’s life.” Terry …. we’re going to miss you, but remember you with a smile.

So sad to see Terry has passed. We will miss him terribly. Terry was a wonderful humble fellow. He helped us many times at the Bay. I’ll miss seeing him out fishing on the Bay as well.
A few years ago Terry cut down some big cedars on the property. When we first saw his work, he surprised us by having carved a big “E” on one of the trunks with his chain saw. It was a lovely touch and we will always think of Terry when we see it.
Farewell our dear friend and rest in peace.

We are deeply saddened by Terry’s passing. He was a larger than life in our Hope Bay community. Terry was quick to offer if you needed help and, as others have noted, he could do practically anything. Terry was also very caring. It was not unusual to receive a text message just checking in to see how we were doing. Our course, Terry loved to fish. We would get a single word text “BAM!”, and possibly a photo when he landed a keeper. I could go on and on how he contributed to our lives at the bay but will simply say we will miss him dearly. Please accept our sincere condolences and know his memory will live on.
