Plantt, Terry David

Terry passed away peacefully at the Owen Sound Hospital on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the age of 68.

Born in Meaford on May 12, 1956, he was a son of  May (nee Free) and the late Wes Plantt.

Terry was the beloved husband, best friend and soulmate of Tracey (nee Galbraith).

He will be dearly missed by his children Tammy Plantt, Carrie Kretschmann (Kris), Kelly Boyd, and Jay Boyd (Mikala).

He was the proud grandpa of Joey Plantt, Emily Plantt, Madison Plantt, Kristen Kretschmann, Carter Kretschmann, Auston Boyd and Hazel Boyd.

Terry was the much-loved brother of Ken (Sandra), Karen (late Gord), Keith (late Joan), Lillian (Rob), Barb (Rick), and Kevin (Kim).  He will be remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews and their families, as well as the Galbraith family and the many friends Terry has made over the years.

Family meant the world to Terry; his grandchildren were certainly the apple of his eye and brought him great joy. Terry loved boating, camping and caring for the many dogs and cats he has shared his home with. He enjoyed umpiring and karate in his younger years.  Terry worked at Goodyear for more than 20 years.   More recently he has driven cab, covering many miles in and around Meaford and Blue Mountain, meeting many interesting people. Terry has survived some extremely challenging times and health struggles over the years but always made the most of it and lived his life to the fullest.

A memorial gathering celebrating Terry’s life will take place at the Meaford and St. Vincent Community Centre on Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 12 until 3 p.m.

Dear Tracey, I am so saddened to read about Terry’s passing. He always kept such a positive attitude.
Such great memories of my rides with him – he was the consummate professional. Oh if those taxi walls could talk. He would just give a little smirk and a roll of the eye.
I will always have a smile remembering him.
May your memories make you smile also.
    Big hugs sent your way.
