I am so sorry to hear of my friend, Vanda’s passing on November 5th. My condolences to Ann and Vanda’s family whom she valued greatly. Such a vital person with great energy and zest for life. I am so glad that I have a copy of her book, recounting her life and experiences.
She felt that she should write this autobiography as she wasn’t getting any younger! How wise she was ! Due to my being in Montreal to celebrate my own recent loss, I will not be able to attend her celebration of life on the 13th November

Donna and I saw Vanda about a month ago and her comments hinged on her amazement that she was “still kicking”!
To Ann and Vanda’s family please accept our sincere condolences and know that there is now one more talented angel in heaven. She was always so upbeat and a pleasure to know.

George and I wish to send our condolences to Ann and Vanda’s family. Whilst we only met Vanda and Ann a couple of times at Probus casual dining, we thoroughly enjoyed their company and the stories they bought to the table. Lynn and George

    Dearest Ann,
I loved Vanda for her bravery, her optimism, her sense of humour, her practical know-how,
her laugh, her willingness to take on a challenge, the stories she told of her childhood and youth, her cheerfulness, her kindness and her ability to make us all feel like chums on some grand adventure. I will miss her greatly and I am enormously sorry for your much greater and deeper loss. Vanda will always live on in my heart and mind and I will always be grateful that she was part of my life.

    Dear Ann,
Sending you and Vanda’s family my sympathy and condolences. I certainly will miss the little blue car no longer “buzzing” below my unit in the mornings when Vanda went for a swim at the Royal Harbour. Arthur and I always enjoyed her interesting life stories, her laughter and, of course, Vanda as my neighbour. Ann, wishing you strength to handle the new chapter in your life, and, if I can help, please contact me.
Arthur and I will see you at the Marsh Street Centre.

    Dear Ann

I really feel privileged to have known Vanda. She enriched my life with her many stories about her life. I remember her love for singing, her smile her sense of humour. The episode about the little motorcycle she told still makes me smile.
My deepest condolences to you Ann and to her family.

It seems only recently that I sat beside Vanda at a concert in Grace United Thornbury. She was so proud to mention-“You know I’m 90!” who could believe that jovial person who was always chipper and smiling. She told me she was planning a trip “Its my last Hurrah,” she said. We shared our arthritic woes and remembrances on the tennis court. a great gal who was born on Valentine’s day!
My deepest Sympathy to Ann and also to Vanda’s niece,
    Dorothy Henley
