Jack, Wayne Douglas

Wayne Jack passed away peacefully at the Meaford Long Term Care Centre on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the age of 70.

He is survived by his daughter Lauren Ablack and his brothers Barry and Ron Jack and their families.

Wayne had many life experiences and was an entrepreneur at heart. He was always and interesting person to talk to.  He cared deeply for his family, enjoyed being a part of family celebrations and would be the first person to give you the shirt off his back.  Life was difficult for him due to some serious health issues, but he always persevered as best he could.

Many thanks to the staff at the Meaford Long Term Care Centre for the great care that Wayne has received over the past few years.

I have so many memories of Wayne, as the gifted young child with an inquiring mind, as the teenager delighting in tricks (passing chocolate covered grasshoppers unbeknownst to his parents or their cocktail party guests) and as the man he became with so many varied interests and plans. His suffering is behind him and he is resting in peace.

I was saddened to hear of the passing on Wayne. My condolences to Barry and Ron for the loss of their brother and of course, Lauren, for the loss of her father. My memories of Wayne are that of a man full of conversation and interesting ideas. May in rest in peace now.

My condolences to Barry, Ron and family on Wayne’s passing! I was so lucky to have had him in my life, as was anyone he came in contact with. From the time he was a teenager, Wayne was one of the most compassionate and empathetic people I have known. Many in the family benefited from his love of caregiving. In addition, Wayne was full of life: experimenting with his chemistry set in the basement, pulling pranks, etc. But on the serious side he loved to read and hold meaningful conversations. Wayne is at peace now; he will be sadly missed.
