Clock, Ashley Louise

Ashley Clock of Meaford passed away suddenly and unexpectedly with family by her side at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto on Saturday, November 12th, 2022 at the age of 39.

Born in Owen Sound on October 28, 1983, she was the daughter of Larry and Louise (nee Carefoot) Clock of Meaford.

Ashley was the loving and supportive mother of Adassia ‘Dassi’ and Shantae ‘Tae’ of Meaford.

She was the much-loved best friend and sister of Darren Clock of Meaford.

Family and friends were so important to Ashley!  She had a large extended family consisting of aunts, uncles, and cousins and an amazing friend group spreading worldwide.  She very much considered her friends part of her family.

Ashley will be remembered as a beautiful soul who could light up a room.  She was so proud of her girls; they were her pride and joy, and she was their greatest fan!

Ashley was a ‘sports nut’, she loved playing, watching and organizing sports and would get involved and help out in any way she could.  She loved to travel and meet new people and enjoyed experiencing different cultures and lifestyles.  Ashley cared about people and always wanted others to be successful and feel good about themselves.  She had a passion for life and was a great friend.  She made everyone feel welcome, either as a hockey billet in her home or a friend at a social gathering or on the field.  She really was a social butterfly and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Ashley will never forget her.

Ashley’s family will receive friends for visiting at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 4 until 7 p.m.  A funeral service will be conducted at Christ Church Anglican in Meaford on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. with a reception following at the Meaford Community Centre.  Private service of committal and interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.

As your expression of sympathy, donations for ‘Dassi and Tae’ may be made directly through the T.D. Bank in Meaford or by cheque made payable to Darren Clock.  For information on donating to the girls, please contact the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON   N4L 1B9 (519-538-1320) to whom arrangements have been entrusted.   www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca

Many hearts are broken with the very sad passing of Ashley. No doubt, no one more than her family and friends. Having known your family almost all our lives, mostly from sports being played on the same teams by the boys, (and their mom’s a long time ago), and the boys going through school together, Ashley was the younger sister, always vivacious and energetic and quick to greet you anywhere, with her warm smile. Those of us, fortunate enough to have been even a small part of Ashley’s life, in any way, whether close or not, will not forget her incredible exuberance for life, love and laughter.
We trust the memories of Ashley will help all who loved her, especially her precious daughters, in this burden of losing her so young. Ashley’s life was a gift to all who knew her.
We send our thoughts and prayers to Ashley’s family and friends.
    God Bless.

I watched Ashley grow up and become involved in so many sports and her passion for sports connected her to so many people. She was a true leader and team player. Later on Ashley and I worked together a few times at GBSS and SVE ; Ashley was always up for every challenge as an Educational Assistant. Mom, Coach and above all ROLE MODEL!! It was a honor to stand beside you on the “Field of Dreams” with our kids Dassi and Chloe. How our friendship over softball turned into our own daughters love for the game is something i wont forget. Respectfully, loved getting to know you at the Meaford Mens Softball Tourney in late July back 20 years ago, from score keeping to volunteer work to working the beer gardens and maybe the odd free ticket…which went a long with some chirps…you were always a fixture on Championship Sunday. Little did we know Dassi and Chloe would form a life long bond..

Your stop in last year … Still tops.. “Hey up for a chat”. Yha sure .. “Then open you r Fckn door” and there she was…. and yes “If its meant to be, it will be!!

Thank you for teaching us all something about life, Its eithe GIVE UP, GIVE IN or Get on with it!!!

Words cannot describe how shocked I am! When I arrived in Meaford I instantly felt the bond in its community, through the coming together of friends, family and teammates to support The Knights and baseball teams.

You were always a constant, cheering everyone on, and will always be one of the pillars in that community. You proved the importance of loyalty, togetherness and going above and beyond for anyone, without ask for anything in return. You put everyone first, especially your girls. The love and devotion you showed them is inspiring.

I am forever thankful to have met you and call you a friend, in fact part of my Canadian family ❤️

Murray and I are so saddened at Ashley’s passing. We have both had the priveledge of knowing and working with her. She was an amazing human being and a unique person. She was a force to be reckoned with. She was passionate and stood strong as an advocate for those she worked for. The entire town of Meaford will feel the absence from her passing. She accomplished so much in her 39 years. She involved herself in so many ways in the community as well as at work contributing her time and experience to help and assist others. We are sad and broken as are the children she supported but know she will live on through her beautiful children. We would all be lucky to have accomplished and given half of what she has to this community. May u Rest In Peace Ashley! You will not be forgotten!

I first worked with Ashley at Osprey School when she was starting her career as an Educational Assistant. Her love of motherhood was shown everyday when she talked about Dassi. I began working at SVE the year she was off with Tae and I enjoyed our daily chats at the end of the day. I also enjoyed running into Ashley around Meaford. She will be missed by many ❤️

My prayers are with all of you and I hope you find the strength to get through this difficult loss!

    Larry, Louise, Darren and Girls,
Ashley was an amazing person. More than just a friend she became family to everyone she met. Her bright smile and edgy comments always lifted those when in need. She has taught me many things in her short life…how to be a great ball player, sister, friend and mother. As many have stated she has left many holes in each of our hearts. Be know we are all here for you. Sending love and hugs.

Louise, Larry, Darren, Dassi & Tae my deepest condolences to all of you. Ashley was such a great person! Whenever I saw her – usually at a hockey arena or a buck & doe – or a ball diamond – she always made time for a smile & a chat! And she was so proud of her girls! The last time we chatted – in the Orillia Arena a few weeks ago, we talked about how Dass would be able to teach our boys a thing or 2 about hockey this year!
They say only the good die young & Ashley being taken so young is proof positive of that. May her bright light shine down on all of you during this tragic time.
