Loucks, Keith George
Dad passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 just 8 days after his 102nd birthday.
Born in Minniehill, Ontario on May 10, 1920, Keith was the son of the late Frank and Velva (nee Armstrong) Loucks.
Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marian (nee Sinclair) Loucks, on September 23, 2020.
He was the proud father of Marilyn O’Brien of New Brunswick, Doug Loucks and wife Kathy of Toronto, and Donna McEwan and her husband Bill of Meaford. He was the kind and caring grandfather of Katie (Edward), Claire, Victoria, Patti (Andrew), Michelle (Noah) and, Matthew (DeeDee) and great grandfather of Atticus, Tessa, Campbell, Raelyn, Quinn and Alexandra.
Dad was predeceased by his sister Mildred Manuel (Alec).
Raised on his father’s farm near Minniehill School, Dad was born to be a farmer. He began working for neighbours at the age of thirteen. Eventually he was able to buy his grandfather’s farm and two adjacent farms. In 1945 he married the local schoolteacher and love of his life. Together they shared a lifetime working hard and raising their family. They were a wonderful team for 75 years and he missed Mom every day since her passing in 2020. Dad was devoted to improving his land and looking after his livestock. However, when he retired, Dad was happy to leave it all behind.
Dad was a man of few words who didn’t varnish the truth. He was a sound judge of both animals and people. He had a dry wit, a good sense of humour and, although he could be stubborn, he never held a grudge. He loved and was very proud of his family. His was a life well lived. He would have asked for nothing more.
We love you Dad, and we will miss you and Mom every day. Rest peacefully, you’ve earned it.
A private family graveside interment will be conducted at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.
Our family is especially grateful for the kindness and generosity provided Dad by his ‘Right at Home’ caregivers, Lynn, Santana, Lisa, Kelly, Kathryn and Tina and to the staff and management at Georgian Traditions for their care and support over the last several years.
A gathering celebrating both Marian and Keith’s life will be held at their daughter Donna’s home on Saturday, May 28th, 2022 from 2 until 4 p.m., all are welcome to attend and bring their favourite memories and stories to share.

To all the family, our very sincere condolences on Keith’s passing. He had a remarkable life and we will remember him as a strong, but humble, man of character — and yes, with a good sense of humour and dry wit! May he rest in peace.
Lovingly,
Jim and Linda England

Dear Donna & Bill, Doug & Kathy, Marilyn and families
Your Dad was well respected (as was your Mom) by my family. Growing up in the ” Minniehill ” area, everyone knew each other and helped one another. I have fond memories of your Dad throughout my entire working career. He had a good sense of humour and could tell you a story with a twinkle in his eyes. He will be missed.
With heartfelt sympathy.

What a Wonderful Tribute to your Dad. I have many fond memories of your Dad and Mom. Your Dad had a great sense of humour and you are correct, he almost demanded the truth. We had many discussions and I always took his advice to Heart.

We met Keith and Marion through the curling club and it was always a pleasure being on the ice with them. Never too serious, yet always had a good game, win or lose and the social time afterwards was delightful. Rick always looked forward to Keith’s phone call every spring to check out his lawn mower and every fall to tune up the snow blower. When they were moving from Farrar St, Keith and Marion invited us up a night or two before the yard sale to see if there was anything we wanted to purchase before their sale began. We spent a couple of hours chatting and laughing – that evening seems like such a short time ago. The chatting part of the visit was worth more than any money we spent on the items we purchased. I remember buying a glass loaf pan and Marion asked me if I did a lot of baking. To this day, every time I use the loaf pan, it makes me smile thinking of the evening we spent chatting with them. A hundred and two years – that is amazing, but so too were Keith and Marion. Our sincere condolences to your family.

To the Loucks family, I spent a lot of time at your parents farm in my younger years. My Mom and Dad (Evelyn and Fred Gill )and your Mom and Dad were great friends. I always enjoyed going to their farm for dinner and a visit. I am so sorry for your loss of “Uncle” Keith and “Aunt” Marion.
