It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jason Allan Harbottle in Meaford at the age of 46.
Jason was the son of Dale Harbottle and the late Terri Lee Morris.
He was the brother of Garrett Harbottle, Sarah Harbottle and Jacob Morris Wheeler.
Jason loved fishing and collecting and building custom fishing rods and gear. He spent a lot of time fishing on the Big Head River, Beaver River and on Georgian Bay.
There will be no visitation or funeral service.
As your expression of sympathy, donations to the Meaford Hospital Foundation or C.M.H.A. Canadian Mental Health and Addiction would be appreciated and may be made through the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., Meaford, ON N4L 1B9 to whom arrangements have been entrusted. www.fergusonfuneralhomes.ca

Thinking about the autumn of 1991, Jay and I hitched home from the CNE where we saw Rage against the machine, Pearl Jam, and Neil Young with Booker T. When we got almost home, stopped in an orchard between Thornbury and Meaf, picked a couple of crispy, ice cold apples off a tree. Those are good memories.

J was a very good friend to me in our highschool years, we had so many fun times and lots of giggles in our tight knit group, later on in years I would see him from time to time still with that sparkle in his eye and dashing smile and quick sense of humour, always like old times when we would bump into each other in public and he truly cared about how my day or life was going, he was a hard worker when he worked and like all of us in this world have had, deep heavy hard difficult moments some have it harder than others.
I’m so sad to hear J has passed away and I am deeply sorry for your loss that you Dale and all your family must suffer but know this; your Son was a good man who had a lovely gentleness about him and a true heart that was kind towards his friends, he certainly left footprints on my heart and good memories that make me smile and I know you and yours have those very special good memories, hold on tight to them keep them close to your heart’s, the hardest part is trying to understanding what we cannot understand- making the fond memories so much easier and lighter to hold on to.
