Malloch, Peter Ralph 'Pete'

Peter Ralph Malloch, affectionately known as ‘Pete’, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Markdale Hospital at the age of 48.

He was a loving father, son, brother and friend, whose spirit and adventuresome nature touched the lives of many.

Pete is survived by his stepmother, Alice Cowan, and was predeceased by his loving parents’, Susie Akpalialuk and Bill Malloch.

He will be missed by his siblings, Patrick Akpalialuk (Anna), Jim Malloch, and Tina Akpalialuk (Robin Anawack).

Pete was a devoted father and cherished every moment spent with Abigail ‘Abby’ and Seth Malloch; he will be remembered fondly by their mother Angie Malloch (nee Rice) and her family, Ken and Linda Rice, Kim and Neil Kearns, Greg and Laura Rice and their families. He will also be remembered by the Ratcliffe family and extended Rice family, and will be missed by his nieces, nephews, and friends collected from coast to coast.

Pete was an accomplished individual, graduating from Canadore College with a degree in Aviation Mechanical Engineering and from Fanshawe College as an Electronic Technician.  He pursued a fulfilling career as a Helicopter Maintenance Engineer, working extensively across Canada, with occasional deployments to the United States and the Caribbean.  Pete also trained as a service provider for gas pump measurement and calibration.

An adventurer at heart, Pete had a deep passion for mountain biking, travelling, and music.  He was always up for an adventure and had a special fondness for the northern territories, where he enjoyed connecting with family, fishing and being in nature.  His dedication to mountain biking earned him numerous awards in competitive events.

One of Pete’s favourite sayings was “Time and Money”, a reminder of his belief in the importance of making the most of each moment.  He lived life to the fullest, always ready for the next adventure, and cherished the time spent with family and friends.

Peter Ralph ‘Pete’ Malloch’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.  His adventurous soul and warm-hearted nature will be remembered and celebrated by family and friends alike.
