It was a great honour to meet the amazing Peggy on our trip to Canada in 2017. Peggy was a dear friend of my Grandmother , from school in Dewsbury Yorkshire.
She took a keen interest in my textile students and offered me lots of ideas for fantastic projects. Her artistic ability was world renowned! Sending all our love to the family .
    Love Kate and family

It was a tremendous sadness to hear of Peggy’s passing. My sincerest condolences to her family. Peggy and I met as neighbors back in the 1980’s, but our mutual love of embroidery cemented an enduring friendship. She was a remarkable woman with such strength of character, I admired very much.

    Dear Peggy,
You were always a knowledgeable lady. You were so inspiring to all the ladies here on Vancouver Island. Amazing talent , Peggy stretched our talents to the Nth degree.
We are still trying to catch up with you. I have your Strawberry picture in my foyer. Never mind , all Japanese phases we stitched with you. Still have the white work Mount Mellick as well the Deerfield projects. There were Temari Balls were so amazing.
Loved her dance at the end of an event for us. She was talented in dance too.
She helped bond us with so many other ladies that stitched. Our friendship is still going.
Big hugs, keep stitching up there!
And and her taste with in a Cute BT, Brit.

Shocked and saddened by the news of Peg’s passing. A great loss to so many of us. Knew her only through the art of Japanese embroidery where we met years ago in Atlanta at the Japanese Embroidery Center— great artistic talent that flowed in and through everything Peg did with her hands. Always gracious with a smile ready. A very special friend–we would touch base every 2-4 months to play catch up. The embroidery world has lost an inspiring teacher and designer. My sincere condolences to her family.

I became a member of the Island Stitchery Guild, Nanaimo BC, in the 1990’s when Peggy was very active in teaching all different embroidery techniques. I learned many good habits from her and found her knowledge almost boundless. I think Peggy lived a good life and gathered many friends over the years as well as admirers. Earth’s loss will certainly be heavens gain.

Ditto to all the above messages. My condolence to her family and friends, they were lucky people to have had her in their lives. She was an icon to the embroidery world. She inspired and widened my world of Crewel embroidery. Thank-you to the Inspirations weekly news letter for mentioning Peggy and a link to this page of condolences. Peggy…you will be missed.
