Myers, Preston Arthur

Born in Terrace Bay, Ontario on August 4, 1950, Preston was the eldest and much loved son of Cecile Vaughan (nee Gobeil). He was predeceased by his father Lloyd Myers.

Preston was the beloved father of Christopher Myers (Kirsten Hansen) of Port Colborne and Tricia McCall (Jay Krekorian) of St. Catharines.  He will be remembered fondly by Christopher and Tricia’s mother Lorraine Myers (nee Loan). Preston will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Nathan, Krista, Andrew, and great grandsons Lucas and Mycah.

Preston was the much loved brother of Mary Heggtveit (Gib) of London, the late Stephen Myers (Lisa) of Thunder Bay, Frank Myers (Beverley) of St. Andrews, N.B., and Irene McGuire (late David) of Clarksburg.  He will be remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews and their families.

Preston retired in the late 90’s and was proud of his 30 years of service with General Motors. He spent the early years of his retirement in St. Catharines before relocating to Meaford in 2005.  Friends and family appreciated Preston’s custom built decks and various other carpentry projects that he worked on.  He hosted and thoroughly enjoyed pool nights and dart tourneys with the guys and was the self-proclaimed “Crib King”.  Preston loved time with his circle of friends.

Christopher and Tricia and the rest of Preston’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Preston’s friends for their devotion and kindness, and Dr. Jean Hudson, the L.H.I.N. and Home Care Partners for their grace, dedication and compassionate care.

A private service celebrating Preston’s life will be conducted at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford.
